Great cake sale for cancer care
05 Sep 2014
Bakers – and hungry customers – required!
The School of Arts, Languages and Cultures are taking part in Macmillan’s Biggest Coffee Morning in the World!
From 10.30am on Friday 26 September, the School will be holding a bake sale in A4 Samuel Alexander Building (enter the north foyer and turn left).
There will be a range of homemade cakes and biscuits available along with tea and coffee, with all proceeds going to the charity which supports cancer sufferers. You could also be in with a chance of winning some great prizes in our competitions and raffle.
So why not take a quick break and help out a worthwhile cause while you’re at it!
Want to contribute?
We are looking for bakers to contribute their homemade (cakes, cupcakes, biscuits, all welcome!) or shop bought treats which we can offer on the day.
If you would like to help, just bring your cakes along to room A4 on the day, or email laura.berisford@manchester.ac.uk to arrange a collection on or before Thursday 25 September.
How your money can help:
£25 pays for a Macmillan nurse to support a family affected by cancer for one hour.
£61 pays for 4 hours for a Macmillan benefits adviser to help someone struggling with the costs of cancer.
£278 could keep a Macmillan information and support centre stocked for a month with all the resources it needs to support people affected by cancer.
If you can’t make it to the bake sale but would still like to contribute, Macmillan offer a ‘Text to Donate’ service, simply text CUPPA 3AH to 70550 to donate £5.

Hope to see you there!
