The ‘More Tomorrows’ campaign receives a boost from our Staff Survey
Two cancer charities have received more than £4,700 - thanks to the Staff Survey 2013.
Will Spinks, Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operation Officer of the University, handed over cheques to The Christie and Cancer Research UK last week.
Both charities decided to put the money towards the More Tomorrows campaign which is raising funds to build the new Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC) built at The Christie site.
The Christie received a cheque for £2,037 while Cancer Research UK received £2,666. Cat Kirkaldy from CRUK and Natalie Pike from The Christie received the donations. To find out more about the MCRC visit: MCRC
These were two of the three charities chosen by staff to receive donations from the Staff Survey which took place during March and April. For every completed survey, the University donated £1 to one of three charities, chosen by staff.
The University-level results will be shared with staff on Tuesday, 4 June. For most staff, this will come via email, while those staff who don’t have PC access at work will receive a printed copy.
Along with the results from Capita, there will be a response from the University, commenting on the findings and outlining the next steps in addressing the issues raised by you.
On the same date, leaders and senior managers will receive their own set of local results to share with their teams, before putting together action plans to address the issues raised by staff.
During the summer, leaders and senior managers will be tasked with putting together action plans for their own areas of responsibility. These will be fed into the following action plans:
- Faculty level (one action plan for each Faculty) – led by the Vice-Presidents and Deans
- Professional Support Services – led by the Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer
- Library/visitor attractions – led by the Deputy President and Vice-Chancellor
