World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on 10th October. This year’s theme set by the World Federation of Mental Health is prioritising workplace mental health. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organisations, and communities. 

World Mental Health Day is an opportunity for people to come together to talk about mental health and help show that mental health matters, in all aspects of life. Talking about our mental health can help us cope better with life’s ups and downs. So, on World Mental Health Day and beyond it, why not check in with your friends, family, peers, or colleagues? 

UoM World Mental Health Day Webinar: Thursday, 31 October, 10:00 – 11:00am

Join the Colleague Wellbeing Team and guests to talk about mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. We will be discussing: 

  • Mental health awareness
  • Tackling the stigma that surrounds mental health in the workplace 
  • What is on offer to support mental health in the workplace at UoM

  • Manchester Mind offer a range of services for people living in Manchester including advice, support and self-care hub.  
  • Andys Man Club are a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online. Groups meet on Mondays at 7pm (except bank holidays). Find your nearest group.
