January SEP Leaders Update

Each month, student experience leaders deliver an update on SEP to their teams. January’s update can be found below.
Key messages:
- Additional temporary resource: in response to your feedback about workloads and wellbeing, additional resource is being recruited to operational teams as temporary backfill whilst SEP is being delivered.
- Cohort 1 (‘student marketing and recruitment’ / ‘applications and admissions’): formal consultation with the Trade Unions has now concluded with their agreement. We are in the process of matching colleagues on permanent contracts to roles and confirming team assignments. Remaining vacances will then be ring fenced for colleagues impacted by Cohort 1, including those who currently hold fixed term contracts, and redeployees.
- Cohort 2 (‘teaching, learning, student experience and campus life’ and ‘postgraduate research’): the timeline has now been finalised. Implementation will be staggered from Summer 2021 to Spring 2022 to minimise disruption to our core activities. New structures will be implemented for Grade 6 and above first, followed by Grades 2 to 5.
