Canvas: Book training, and an eLearning team presentation at your department meeting
15 Nov 2024
A Canvas online training course is now available so you can learn the basic tools to create content and activities on the platform.
As preparations continue for the introduction of Canvas as the replacement for Blackboard across the University by September 2025, the first training course for the platform is now live.
Designed for both academic and professional services staff, the online course will cover the basic tools for creating content and activities in Canvas, with topics including the dashboard, account and user profile, managing content, and adding a module and module item. It will also demonstrate the ‘View as student’ function so colleagues can check how students experience the programme information on Canvas.
One-hour training sessions are available from Wednesday, 20 November through to mid-December. To find out more and book your place, see the Canvas 1: Navigation and basic functionality page on the Training catalogue.
Our Faculty eLearning team is also available to attend department meetings to update colleagues on the progress of the Canvas project and answer any questions. The team can be flexible with timings from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on how much detail you’d like to be covered. If you’d like a Canvas update at your next department meeting, please email Humanities eLearning Manager Stuart Phillipson (stuart.phillipson@manchester.ac.uk) with the date, time and location of the meeting.
