Application call for Simon Industrial and Professional Fellowships 2024/25

31 Oct 2024

Applications are welcome for the Simon Industrial and Professional (SIP) Fellowships, an opportunity to undertake a fixed-term placement at the University.

Established in 1990 to complement the Simon Research Fellowships in the Social Sciences, the Fellowships offer the chance for people employed in industry, commerce, the public sector, third sector, other professional services, or who are self-employed to undertake a fixed-term placement at the University. The Fellowship may be used for activities such as capacity building, or to scout and develop opportunities for business engagement, research impact, knowledge exchange or other activities of strategic importance identified by the University.

People interested in applying for a Fellowship must secure an academic host who will be responsible for gaining Head of School support for the activity and submitting the application.

The SIP Fellowships StaffNet page also includes a link to examples of previous Fellowship projects, featuring two case studies from the Faculty of Humanities.

For further details on the application process and regulations, and to complete an application, please download the guidance and application form.

The deadline for applications is Friday, 22 November. Awards will be announced in the week commencing Friday, 20 December. Fellowships must be planned to take place during academic year 2024/25, with the funds spent and claimed by July 2025.
