Find out 'What Happens in a Humanities Lab?'
19 Apr 2024
Join an event in our new series to uncover what happens in Humanities laboratories.
A laboratory is often associated with subjects such as chemistry and physics, but rarely the humanities.
So what happens in a humanities lab? Now is your chance to find out as the Archaeology Department Labs are opening their doors and you’re invited.
‘What Happens in a Humanities Lab’ is a new series of events, hosted by academics from across the humanities to bring their specialisms into the lab in the form of practical skills workshops. They are available to staff and students across the whole University of Manchester. Sessions include indigo dyeing, building an origami disaster bowl, Early Modern candle making, artefacts and creative writing as well as mummifying an orange.
We’re encouraging creativity and discovery whilst learning new skills. Get creative in these workshops, collaborate with others from across the university and come see what a Humanities lab is all about.
