Postgraduate Research Showcase 2025 – judges needed!

Colleagues invited to judge the work of our up-and-coming talent – application deadline Tuesday, 10 June and you must be available on Tuesday, 17 June
The University is inviting colleagues to participate as judges in the upcoming Postgraduate Research Showcase 2025.
This prestigious event will highlight the exceptional research conducted by our postgraduate researchers, with a strong emphasis on developing and demonstrating effective presentation skills—an essential aspect of academic communication.
Each presenter will deliver a concise elevator pitch, which will be assessed by two judges: one academic and one peer, both of whom will be unfamiliar with the presenter's specific research area. As a judge, your role will be to evaluate presentations using the following criteria:
- Knowledge of topic: did the presenter demonstrate expertise and enthusiasm?
- Problem or issue: was the research question or issue clearly articulated?
- Importance: did the presenter effectively convey the significance and relevance of their research?
- Academic field: how well did the presenter connect their work to broader disciplinary discussions?
This is a fantastic opportunity to support our postgraduate researchers, gain insight into a wide range of research topics, and contribute to an exciting and dynamic academic event.
Judges will need to be available from 10.30am to noon on Tuesday, 17 June and the deadline to apply for this role is Tuesday, 10 June.
