Research Lifecycle Programme (RLP) Showcase 2025
05 Dec 2024
A chance for researchers and Professional Services colleagues to come together and discover the positive impact RLP is having on our research environment – on Wednesday, 5 February
The Research Lifecycle Programme (RLP) is hosting its second showcase event on Wednesday, 5 February 2025.
The event is an opportunity for researchers and Professional Services colleagues to come together and find out more about the work of the Programme and the positive impact that it is having on our research environment.
The event kicks off at 12.30pm with a mix of technology demonstrations and buffet lunch. At 2pm Vice-President for Research, Professor Colette Fagan will start the more formal part of the day with a welcome address followed by lightning talks from academics about the benefits of the Programme, a panel discussion about our future plans with academic theme leads and wrap up with networking drinks and canapes.
Colette said: “Events like these are a fantastic way to learn about how RLP is helping to develop and improve the University’s research environment. Beyond that, it’s a way to meet the people who are instrumental in delivering those positive changes. After the last event I came away feeling positive and inspired about the future direction of research here in Manchester.”

Further information
The event timetable and confirmed speaker details can be found on the Programme’s new SharePoint website. This has been developed to make it easier to find key information about RLP including our overarching themes and projects, and who is working on them.
Since August RLP has been working to set in place new governance structures including a revised Programme Board, new Theme Boards and supporting the recruitment of new members to RIAG – the Research Infrastructure Advisory Group.
These different groups, along with the Research Infrastructure Strategic Change Sub-committee, have been reviewing and approving many of the business cases for our planned work. You can see a full list of our in-flight and future projects in the news section of the new RLP website.
