Embrace Kindness: Join our Bicentenary "1824 Acts of Kindness" Campaign!

1824 Acts of Kindness

As we come to the midway month of our Bicentenary year at the University, let's embark on a journey of compassion, positivity, and unity. We are thrilled to introduce the "1824 Acts of Kindness" campaign, a collective effort to perform 1824 acts of kindness during this special year! This campaign is launching as part of Colleague Wellbeing Month, in conjunction with Bicentenary.

Why Acts of Kindness?

Kindness has the power to create a ripple effect, fostering a culture of support, empathy, and connection within our community. By coming together to perform simple acts of kindness, we can make a meaningful impact on each other's lives and the communities we serve.

How Can You Participate?

It's easy! Join the 1824 Acts of Kindness Campaign and commit to performing intentional acts of kindness. The Campaign will run from Monday 3rd June until Thursday 1st August, offering a whole 60 days to complete an act of kindness.

1. Share your acts of kindness in the Padlet here - https://padlet.com/maizyjenner/UoM1824ActsofKindness

2. Inspire others by sharing stories and experiences.

Acts can range from supporting a colleague, volunteering in the community, or simply spreading positivity in your everyday interactions.

Examples of Acts of Kindness:

  • Offer assistance to a colleague;
  • Volunteer your time for a local charity or community event;
  • Send a note of appreciation to a fellow staff member;
  • Share positive affirmations or uplifting messages in the workplace.

Benefits of Joining:

  • Foster a culture of kindness and support within our community;
  • Create a positive and uplifting work environment;
  • Make a lasting impact on the wellbeing of individuals and the community;

Let's collectively perform 1824 Acts of Kindness and showcase the power of compassion within the University of Manchester community. Your small acts can create a wave of positive change that resonates throughout our Bicentenary year and beyond.

Thank you for being a part of this meaningful celebration!
