Times Higher Education Awards open for entries
14 Apr 2025
The Times Higher Education Awards are now open for entries and our university is seeking nominations in several categories.

Each year the Awards highlight the best work going on in higher education and it’s a great opportunity to publicise your team, individuals or projects, and to have sector colleagues notice your work. Last year we were nominated for three awards, winning two.
If you’d like to enter this year, you can nominate a submission by sending a short summary or outline (150 words maximum) of the suggested award entry so we can decide which to take forwards. You don’t need to write up a full award submission yet as we may not be able to enter every nomination.
We are seeking nominations in the following categories:
- Most Innovative Teacher of the Year
- Research Project of the Year: Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences
- Research Project of the Year: STEM
For Most Innovative Teacher of the Year’, please send your submission to Teaching and Learning [teaching.learning@manchester.ac.uk]. Based on awards made in previous years, we would anticipate that our institutional nominee would be building on existing recognition of their impactful innovation in teaching such as an internal teaching award, National Teaching Fellowship, membership of a team that has received a Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence or an ITL Fellowship. For the other two categories, submissions should be sent to rst@manchester.ac.uk.
There are also other categories open for submission. If you would like to enter one of these, you can submit a 150 word summary to the relevant Professional Services Leadership Team member.
Please note that the Awards cover the previous academic year and do check the criteria carefully before deciding whether or not to write a summary.
You can submit on behalf of yourself or others, but please be aware that the person or team you are nominating will need to write up a full entry and collect supporting materials if selected. Support will be provided to proofread and edit this. This year, Times Higher Education has instituted a charge for entering the awards. This cost will be covered by the Directorate of Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment, but you’ll need to submit your award through the process outlined above for this to apply.
Information about each category is included on the Times Higher website.
Please ensure you’ve submitted your nomination by 30 April and good luck!
