Exam and assessment support for students from the Library

The Library is offering exam and assessment support for students for the upcoming exam and assessment period. You can direct your students to our Exam and Assessment support area on the Library website:

The Library has recently launched a new interactive workshop on Copyright Essentials: Using other people's stuff which sits within the suite of Specialist Library Support. Open to all students, researchers, and staff. Sign up now! 

New Library Learning Guides: All formats 

The Library has created a webpage that consolidates online guides from all our teaching programmes in all their published formats. This comprehensive resource includes all My Learning EssentialsSpecialist Learning Support and My Research Essentials content. The page lists together interactive, podcast and fully accessible printable versions to make it easier to find the format that best suits your needs. Nominate for the Open Research Award 2025 – Deadline: Wednesday, 30 April 

The University of Manchester’s Open Research Conference 2025, takes place on Monday, 9 June and Tuesday, 10 June 2025, at the Alliance Manchester Business School. As part of the conference, we are pleased to announce nominations for our annual Open Research Award, recognising individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions to Open Research at Manchester. Nominations are welcomed from academic, technical, and professional services staff and postgraduate researchers (PGRs) (self-nominations are also encouraged). Widening our Digital Resources - Oxford Bibliographies Online

The Library has recently acquired Oxford Bibliographies Online, a valuable multidisciplinary set of research guides covering 42 discipline areas from the humanities, social sciences and sciences: Find out more.   

New Audio-Visual Room at Main Library

As part of the Library's ongoing redevelopment of the Muriel Stott building, a new small-scale Audio-Visual room is now available for students and staff to watch DVDs or listen to music. For further details, including how to book, see this news article.

Christian Brethren Archive showcase opens at Main Library, celebrating 200 years of the movement  

The Christian Brethren Archive showcase at The University of Manchester Library opens on Wednesday, 2 April to August 2025, at Blue Ground in Main Library. Entry is free. 

There will be Collections Encounters in the Map room in Purple Ground, where you can view items from the collection with the curator, Tereza Ward. Further information on these dates is below:

  • Wednesday, 9 April: 10am - 11.30am, and 1pm - 2pm.   
  • Thursday, 17 April: 10am - 11.30am, and 1pm - 2.30pm.
