Streamlining the thesis journey: eProg's new upgrade

PGR thesis submission functionality now live in eProg
We are pleased to announce a significant upgrade to eProg, the University’s online system to support Postgraduate Researchers (PGRs) in managing the progression and assessment of their research. The functionality for PGR thesis submission has now moved from the eThesis system into eProg, streamlining the submission and examination process into one single system for both colleagues and PGRs.
eThesis, the previous solution for managing and storing PGR theses, is now permanently closed and all thesis-related files and thesis access settings have been migrated over to eProg.
We are now in the support phase, ensuring a smooth transition for all. As part of that support, eProg training and guidance are now available.
What this means for you
The upgraded eProg system offers a range of benefits, making thesis submission simpler, more secure, and more efficient:
- Unified System – Thesis submissions and processing are now fully integrated within eProg, removing any integration challenges with eThesis.
- Enhanced Security and Efficiency – A more secure platform with easier thesis status tracking
- Comprehensive Audit Trail – Full submission history is now available within eProg.
- Standardised Guidance – Clear, user-friendly guidance on the submission process across all three Doctoral Academies
- Automation and Streamlined Processes – Automated submission milestones, notifications, and fewer preliminary steps to minimise delays.
