Manchester 2035 Digital Ideas Lab – Now Open!
31 Mar 2025
Today marks the launch of our digital Ideas Lab as part of the next phase of Manchester 2035 – your chance to help shape our University’s bold new direction.

Our sprint groups have taken your ideas from Phase 1 and created ambitious proposals - or "leaps" – to set Manchester apart by 2035. Each leap contains a range of big ideas to help us get there, but we won’t be able to take every idea forward into the final strategy. Your feedback, challenges, and insights will help us prioritise, refine, and ultimately choose the ideas that best align with our vision and ambitions.
How to get involved
Digital Ideas Lab (live from today until 18 April):
- Visit the Ideas Lab on our digital feedback platform, IdeaScale, to explore each leap, dive into detailed descriptions, review the full proposals from our sprint groups, and understand the big ideas at their core.
- You can watch associated podcasts for further insights.
- Log in easily with your University account (single sign-on).
- Once logged in, join the Manchester 2035 community, and start posting your feedback, questions, and comments. Engage by voting and commenting on feedback shared by colleagues and students too.
In-person Ideas Lab (opens tomorrow, 1 April):
- Visit the interactive pop-up exhibition at the Nancy Rothwell building from 1–11 April, 10am–4pm daily.
- Book a team visit or simply drop-in.
Your voice matters
Your feedback is critical. It will help us prioritise and refine our ideas to create a university that truly makes a difference in Manchester and beyond. The more voices and perspectives we capture, the stronger our future strategy will be.
