Academics at Risk Around the World – How can universities help? Tuesday, 25 March

Since 1933 Cara has been a rescue mission for academics around the world who need urgent help to escape from discrimination, persecution, violence or conflict.
The University of Manchester is one of Cara’s founding members and the International Relations team is pleased to invite colleagues to join us to learn more about Cara’s vital work. The University is currently hosting 10 Cara Fellows across our 3 faculties. Our current Fellows will be sharing their experiences, and you can hear from staff who have acted as academic mentors to the Fellows.
This event will be introduced by Professor Nalin Thakkar, Vice-President for Social Responsibility and will take place on Tuesday, 25 March 2025, 12pm to 2pm in the Kanaris Lecture Theatre, Manchester Museum.
The event is open to all staff, please book your free place via: Academics At Risk Around The World – How Can We Help? Tickets, Tue 25 Mar 2025 at 12:00 | Eventbrite.
