Essential Training Courses

Complete Your Essential Training Courses

Four weeks to go

Thank you to those of you who have completed all eight essential training courses. The completion of these courses is vital to ensure that we continue to create a safe, welcoming, and legally compliant environment.

According to our records, 61% of our colleague community have either completed or started all eight courses so with one last push many of us can reach full completion.

We’re now into the last month of our campaign and I urge all colleagues who have not yet done so to visit Blackboard as a priority to complete these essential training courses before the deadline of Friday, 28 February.

All colleagues who complete the Essential courses by Friday 28 February will be entered into a draw to win an additional day of paid leave. There are 100 prizes available.

Why is this important?

A recent audit revealed gaps in our training completion rates, which could impact our legal compliance and our commitment to high standards. Completing these courses is essential for maintaining a safe, welcoming, and compliant environment.

What's included?

You still need to complete all of the following modules on Blackboard:

  • Health & Safety (15 mins)
  • Fire Awareness for All (5 mins)
  • Office Safety at UoM (30 mins)
  • Data Protection & Cyber Security (30 mins)
  • Diversity in the Workplace (45 mins)
  • Unconscious Bias (45 mins)
  • Disability Equity (30 mins)
  • Sexual Harassment (20 mins)

Deadline

Please ensure you complete all remaining modules by Friday, 28 February 2025. You can access the training in the Essential Training Courses section on Blackboard.

For any help, including whether you think you’ve completed the training, feel free to contact us at essentials@manchester.ac.uk.

Let's make this a priority and achieve full compliance together.

Best wishes,
