LGBT+ History Month 2025
24 Jan 2025
Social Justice and the LGBT+ Journey

Get involved in our programme of LGBT+ Month History events this February.
The theme for this year’s LGBT+ History month 2025 is Activism and Social Change. This year’s theme gives us an opportunity to celebrate the individuals and movements that have driven progress in the fight for equality and human rights.
Patrick Hackett, Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer and LGBT+ champion said:
‘We warmly invite you to get involved in our LGBT+ History Month programme of events during February. This year’s powerful theme of Activism and Social Change, gives us all the chance to reflect on how far we’ve come—and how much more we can achieve by working together.
In addition to our event programme, you can join one of our network groups or become a BeeProud ally – there’s lots of ways to show your support.’

Even if you can’t join in an event there are other ways you can support LGBT+ History Month:
Manchester University Press - Queer and Trans Histories
The Queer and Trans Histories series aims to serve as a go-to place for cutting-edge stories on earlier and existing LGBTQ+ formations, and encourages work on queer and trans lives that challenge identity frameworks. Spanning premodern to modern eras, global perspectives, and across genders and sexualities, it explores intersections of age, race, class, religion, dis/ability, and more.
Support
We aim to take a holistic approach that celebrates individuals and their many identities.
We have a number of policies and guidance documents to support our LGBT+ community.
