SU Theatre Show Season
02 Dec 2024
As it gets colder and darker, discover what student-led productions are on at the SU Theatre as our show season kicks off.
Whether you’re a regular attendee or just curious about what’s on stage, this season has something worth exploring.
What’s coming up?
Here’s a quick look at our line-up this season:
Into the Woods (December 6-7)
A lively musical adaptation of Brothers Grimm fairytales performed by the Musical Theatre Society. Enjoy Stephen Sondheim’s award-winning musical score while following the complexity hiding behind storybook pages.
Familiar characters like Cinderella, Jack (of beanstalk notoriety), and Little Red Riding Hood cross paths in the forest in a funny and poignant take on these classics. It’s a story about what happens after “The End” - and the journeys that shape us along the way.
Returning to Haifa (December 10-11)
An intimate production bringing to life a deeply moving story of two families - one Palestinian, one Israeli - whose lives become inextricably linked by history. Experience the Manchester premiere, and the first English language stage adaptation, of Ghassan Kanafani’s classic novella Returning to Haifa.
This is more than a play; it’s a conversation you won’t want to miss. All ticket sales will be donated to the Islamophobia Response Unit.
Why the SU Theatre?
The SU Theatre is more than just a stage, it’s a creative hub on campus. Student talent shines here, and it’s the perfect chance to take a break from the everyday.
If you haven’t seen a show yet, think of it as a chance to support the arts and unwind – all without leaving campus. Plus, it’s a tangible way to support the hard work of students who put so much into our productions.
