Civic Reception for President and Vice-Chancellor

Nancy celebrated for her huge contribution to the City of Manchester in a special ceremony at Manchester Art Gallery

Manchester as a city celebrated Nancy’s highly successful leadership of the university and her impactful civic engagement at a special ceremony on Wednesday, 10 July in the Victorian Galleries at Manchester Art Gallery.

Hosted by the Lord Mayor of the City of Manchester, Councillor Paul Andrews, the event brought civic leaders, heads of the other Manchester universities, and business and community leaders together to honour and celebrate Nancy’s contribution to the Greater Manchester region. 

During the ceremony, Nancy declared her pride in the close relationship the University has nurtured with the city, and her constant commitment to its economic growth, social development and prosperity. 

After the Lord Mayor had expressed his gratitude to Nancy for strengthening the city’s relationship with the University, Councillor Bev Craig, Leader of Manchester City Council, praised her enormous contribution to the city region and her deep support for place and partnership.
