Improving the Performance and Development Review process with quality conversations for ongoing professional development
Throughout 2023 we piloted a new approach to PDRs, as we move towards the new academic year 24/25 we will be adopting this improved approach across the University.
This signals a move away from form filling and box tick towards more meaningful conversations about the development of our colleagues focusing on discussions around goals, challenges and opportunities for growth.
Our pilots have shown that this is much more engaging, and colleagues have felt more supported and guided in their development.
What’s next?
Over the coming months we will be sharing further guidance on this simpler, people-focused approach to P&DRs. We will be sharing tools to support you to have quality conversations along with guidance documents to help answer any questions you may have. This article is to let you know that changes are coming and we encourage you to read our previous P and DR update to start to understand how you to adapt your approach to P&DRs in the coming months.
