Purple Wave Fundraising Prize Draw
15 May 2024
Ada Ak, a Mechanical Engineering with Management student, is the lucky recipient of a pair of graphene-enhanced Inov-8 running shoes
Our students, staff, alumni and friends have answered the call to be part of Team 200, and support our world-class research as part of our Bicentenary Celebrations. They will head to the start line of the Great Manchester Run together on Sunday, 26 May - all wearing distinctive purple running shirts.
All Team 200 members who have so far raised £200 or more towards our ground-breaking research were entered into the prize draw to win a pair of top-quality running shoes from the Inov-8 g-series range. The draw was made by Professor Stuart Allan, Co-director of the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre, on Tuesday, 14 May.
Their incredible efforts have raised over £6,750 to date. Every penny raised will help our very best researchers bring us closer to solving our world’s biggest challenges. From cancer to stroke, climate change to global inequality – the Purple Wave challenge will help Manchester experts find the answers faster.
There’s still time to secure more donations towards the Purple Wave challenge. If you are taking part, here are some tips to give your fundraising another push:
- Ask a colleague, friend, or family member to consider donating to your page this week.
- Share your page on social media – and make sure to write a personalised post.
- Watch and share Will you pave the way for the next life-changing discovery? for a reminder on the incredible difference that your support is making to research at Manchester.
