The Staff Survey 2022 has arrived – this is your chance to let us know how you feel about working here, what you enjoy and what you think we need to improve.

You'll soon receive an email from ‘People Insight’ in your inbox. People Insight are employee engagement specialists who we have asked to conduct the survey on our behalf.

The survey takes around 15 minutes to complete and you’ve got until Tuesday 17 May to complete it.

How it works

  • You’ll receive an email from People Insight with the subject line ‘The Staff Survey is open! Tell us what you think’.
  • If you don’t receive the email today, first check your spam, junk or ‘other’ folders. If it’s still not arrived by tomorrow, contact support@peopleinsight.co.uk.
  • The email contains a unique link. Click the link and complete the survey.
  • As the link is unique to you, make sure to not forward to any colleagues
  • Most of the questions require a tick box answer, with opportunities for you to give more detailed responses to some questions and make comments at the end of the survey.
  • Your responses are saved as you go along – so you can start the survey and come back to it later.  
  • Make sure you submit the survey once you have completed it. Please note that you won’t receive an email acknowledgement from People Insight once you’ve submitted your survey. 
  • If you don’t complete the survey straight away, People Insight will send you regular email reminders.

The survey asks for a few personal details, including your gender, religion and sexual orientation. You are of course free to omit this information, but by including it, you will help us to identify whether our practices result in equal opportunities and outcomes for people from different equality groups. We will use this information to shape our policies to create an inclusive workplace that works for everyone.

What if I don’t have access to a computer to complete the survey?

Managers of staff who do not work at a computer will make arrangements for you to complete the survey during work time. They may give you access to a computer, laptop or tablet. Alternatively, you can visit www.peopleinsight.co.uk/manchester2022 to complete the survey – you just need your staff number (on your ID card and payslip) to verify that you are a member of University staff.

Is my feedback really confidential?

Yes. Only People Insight will be able to see who has and who hasn’t completed the survey, and that data is never shared with the University. Similarly for the response data, this will only ever be shared with the University in aggregate form where there are 10 or more responses within an area. We’ll plant one tree for every survey completed

For every survey completed, we’ll support Eden Reforestation Projects by planting one tree – helping our planet and contributing to our University’s sustainability goals.
