Welcoming our new Chief Financial Officer

Carol Prokopyszyn will be our new Chief Financial Officer starting in June 2022
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Carol Prokopyszyn (pronounced Prock-o-pish-in), our new Chief Financial Officer, following a global search. Carol will be joining the University on 6 June 2022.
She will report to Patrick Hackett and will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Professional Services Leadership Team (PSLT).
Carol has made a significant impact within Higher Education, including at the University of Dundee, Loughborough University and the University of Leicester, navigating the financial complexities of our sector, ensuring financial sustainability, and most recently, leading a significant financial turn-around programme. This included completing the £300m Tay Cities Deal in partnership with local councils and a focus on sustainable financial investments.
Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer (RSCOO), Patrick Hackett said: “Carol is a highly skilled and experienced professional.
"She has a rare and extremely sought-after combination of technical expertise and emotional intelligence. I look forward to working with Carol and welcoming her to the University”.
President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell added: “I am so pleased that we have appointed Carol to this critical role. Her expertise will be essential in ensuring the University’s financial sustainability in what continues to be a challenging environment for the Higher Education sector.
“I would also like to sincerely thank John Cunningham for stepping in as interim CFO. His leadership over the past few months has made a huge difference and is much appreciated.”
