Information on car parking during Christmas closure
Booth Street West (Car Park D)
Booth Street West multi-storey car park will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period. The car park will close at 9pm on Friday, 18 December 2020 and will re-open at 6am on Monday, 4 January 2021.
Sackville Street Gatehouse / Charles Street multi-storey car park (Car Park A)
The Gatehouse will close at 9pm on Friday, 18 December 2020 and will re-open at 6am on Monday, 4 January 2021.
Charles Street car park barriers will be locked in the open position to allow free access and exit from 9pm on Friday, 18 December 2020 until 6am on Monday, 4 January 2021.
Normal operating will resume at 6am on Monday, 4 January 2021.
All other barriers
The barriers at Cecil Street, Dilworth Street and Dover Street car parks will remain in the open position to allow free access and exit during the period Friday, 18 December 2020 until 6am on Monday, 4 January 2021.
The barriers at Bridgeford Street, Burlington Street, Dover Street, Devas Street, AQA, Chemistry, University Place, all North Campus and Thorncliffe House will be left in normal operation mode throughout the closure period and control passes to the PCR.
Aquatics Centre Car Park
The Aquatics Centre car park will be open.
*Update - 16 December*
From 1 January 2021, the Aquatics Car Park will be operated by Apcoa, and no longer operated by NCP. The City Council will be closing the car park from the evening of 28 December 2020, reopening on 1 January 2021, while the transition takes place.
There is no change to University permit holders access and parking arrangements, however, during the closure period permit holders will need to use alternative car parks on campus. The barriers will be raised at Charles Street, Cecil Street, Dilworth Street and Dover Street car parks throughout the Christmas closure and free parking is available for staff.
