Our Social Justice Photography Competition 2021 is now open!
09 Nov 2020
For the first time, our photo competition is open to both our undergraduate and postgraduate taught students
Tell your students to have their cameras (and smart phones) at the ready.
They have until Friday, 5 March 2021 to submit a photo and caption which raises awareness of a social justice issue that’s important to them.
And for the first time, the photo competition is open to both our undergraduate and postgraduate taught students.
Last year the competition received almost 6,000 votes across Instagram and Facebook. The Grand Prize of £400 was awarded to Marie Guest from the School of Social Sciences for her photo ‘Stand By Me, I’ll Stand By You’.
The competition promotes the Social Justice Challenge, an online activity which introduces students to topics like race, homelessness, mental health and higher education. This forms part of the University’s signature Ethical Grand Challenges program which aims to create more socially responsible graduates.
