Windows 11 is coming

The support for Windows 10 will end in October 2025.
Microsoft will no longer provide free software updates from Windows Update, technical assistance, or security fixes for Windows 10. The work within the Library will include other Windows-based digital technologies that underpin Library services such as access control gates and our loan and return services.
The Digital Support Services Team and IT Services have already started work behind the scenes to bring Windows 11 to all laptops and PCs in the University this year.
All new laptops that we purchase come with Windows 11 ready installed so from now on this will be the operating system received.
