29 Jan 2025
The Library Research Services Team has unified with The Office for Open Research and the team will now be known as The University of Manchester Office for Open Research (OOR), forming part of the Directorate of Collection Strategies.

The OOR is the new home for key Open Research services, serving as a single point of access for all research support provided by the Library.

All Library Open Research support is now available in one location. A new streamlined website and knowledge base has launched, providing all Library research support in one place.
The new OOR website focuses on actionable content, enabling researchers to take action to achieve Open Research goals, with informational content provided through articles available via the knowledge base.
What this means for our research staff and students:
The OOR is here to support researchers at every stage of the research process, with expert guidance and support.
- Research Data Management: manage research data effectively, from planning to publishing and preservation.
- Open Access: funding, publishing, and compliance with funder and REF policies.
- Research Indicators: understanding the reach and impact of research through analysis of citations and other metrics.
- Open Research skills and training: increasing understanding and enhancing skillsets through our My Research Essentials programme.
- Open Research systems: access effective tools to open and share work throughout the research process.
- Open Research Programme: initiatives and opportunities for researchers to engage in Open Research practices.
