T4 content management system upgrade

IT Services will be upgrading the Terminalfour (T4) content management system from Version 7 to Version 8 on Monday 13 January, 2025.
T4 is used to maintain content on most of the University’s websites, including the Library / Rylands websites, the main manchester.ac.uk website, Faculty websites, StaffNet and many more.
About the upgrade
This upgrade will bring improvements for content editors without affecting the user experience for visitors to our sites.
The upgrade is scheduled for the updated date of Monday, 13 January 2025 and will apply to all departments, schools, and faculties using this system (including the Library).
The enhancements include the improved ability to move applications and data onto cloud services without disrupting day-to-day functions, enhanced security, and greater functionality, among others, to provide an improved digital environment.
No updates on the day of the upgrade
Please note, it is important that no changes to the system are made on the go-live date of 13 January 2025.
