Subject specific guides designed to support students' research

The Library Subject Guides have been redeveloped for the new academic year and are a perfect place for students to start exploring what is on offer from the Library with relation to their areas of study. Each guide provides subject specific information on relevant books, journals, databases, and unique items from our Special Collections as well as details of relevant learning resources and upcoming workshops.

The new Library Subject Guides are the result of a large-scale, multi-faceted project which drew upon contributions and expertise from teams across the Library spanning Engagement, Teaching, Learning and Students, Digital Development, Digital Services, Customer Services, Collections, Metadata and Discovery, and Research Services. The guides were developed and refined through several rounds of user-testing, quality assurance, and an academic consultation process which further informed the content.

The new guides will complement Library Search providing students with an intuitive, tailored resource designed to help them identify key resources and get the most out of the Library. The guides will also represent a key collections engagement platform through which new acquisitions and subscribed content will be promoted to the wider University.
