Following an extended trial the Library are delighted to announce the purchase of the Royal Geographical Society Archive (with IBG).
The Royal Geographical Society, in collaboration with the Institute of British Geographers, serves as the premier society and leading professional organisation for the field of geography in the United Kingdom. Their mission is to promote and advance the discipline of geography while providing unwavering support to geographers both within the UK and around the globe.
With a particular focus on resources related to Agricultural Geography, Anthropology, Cartography, Borders, Nations and Power, Colonial and Post-Colonial Studies, among many others, the Royal Geographical Society archive has played an influential role throughout its history.
In addition to making the database accessible, the Library’s Collections Engagement Group are committed to promoting it across our various platforms and channels to ensure that all members of The University of Manchester are aware of its availability.
