Hidden Disabilities Awareness Training
21 Nov 2023
Gwen Riley Jones is offering this in-person training, with 16 spaces available.
Over the past few months, Gwen Riley Jones has worked to become an EDI Champion. Run by the University's EDI Directorate, prospective Champions undergo intense training in several fields, before undertaking a ‘Train the Trainer’ programme, delivering information back to their teams and directorates.
In this session on Monday, 4 December, 2-4pm, in the Ground Floor Seminar Room at the Main Library, Gwen will share some of the knowledge and best practice she has learned, focusing on three key areas of hidden disabilities - Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia. The workshop will be interactive and informal, and there is no expectation or requirement of any prior knowledge in this area.
If you have lived experience of living with, or caring for, someone with any of these conditions you are warmly welcomed to join in, and you can choose whether or not you wish to share your experience.
Places are limited, so please contact Victoria Garlick if you wish to attend.
