New interactive map of Main Library
17 Aug 2023
The ‘Our students’ working group is excited to announce the upcoming launch of a new interactive map of Main Library.
The map, which was developed in partnership with MapsIndoors, will help students and staff navigate Main Library more easily:
The map includes a variety of points of interest, such as study areas, PC clusters, shelving locations, toilets, printers, and more. It also provides directions between different areas of the Library, including accessible routes.
In addition to the public view of the map, there is also a ‘Library Staff’ view that displays internal points of interest, such as offices, meeting rooms and storage areas.
Feedback from Library staff
The feedback and insights of Library staff are crucial to ensuring the accuracy and usability of the map, especially in the non-public areas. We would like to invite you to participate in testing and evaluating the map to verify the points of interest and directions. This will greatly contribute to improving the experience for everyone who uses Main Library.
To participate:
- Access the Main Library interactive map.
- Enable the ‘Library Staff’ filter by adjusting the settings in the top left of the map.
- Explore the various points of interest and directions between them.
- Complete this brief evaluation form to share your thoughts on the accuracy and usability of the map.
Your feedback will play a vital role in fine-tuning the map before its official launch in September.
