The Martin Harris Centre: Schedule for Network Transformation

Network updates to desktop computers, laptops and other devices that connect to the wired network.

More information about what network transformation means, the types of devices and other categories of equipment affected, and more technical detail is available on the Network Transformation webpage. 

Key stages of work will result in disruption on the following dates and times as below:

• Monday, 5 December, 2022 - Tuesday, 6 December 2022, 9am-5pm: disruption to devices connected to Wi-FI and a wired connection
• Monday, 5 December, 2022 - Tuesday, 13 December 2022, 9am-5pm: distruption to 3rd party devices

The project team will provide colleagues with the information required by third-party equipment providers to make the necessary changes to IP addresses.

Colleagues will be asked to check and confirm devices are connecting correctly following the change, reporting any issues to IT.modernisation@manchester.ac.uk. 

Other services to be reconfigured include, but are not limited to: Building Management Systems, CCTV, Door Access Control and Printers. The project team will work with colleagues in these service areas to ensure that these devices are reconfigured with minimal disruption.
