Time to Talk Day 2025 Faculty events

Thursday, 6 February 2025 was Time to Talk Day, the nation’s biggest conversation about mental health and wellbeing and an opportunity for friends, families, communities and colleagues to come together to talk, listen and change lives.

The Faculty’s Wellbeing Champions hosted a series of activities and sessions to mark the day and encourage colleagues to take some time away from their desks to connect with team members.

Colleagues gathered in Christie’s Bistro to get involved in a series of mindful activities, including crafting origami cranes, creating ‘happy jars’ and taking part in a cross-stitch workshop. There was also the chance for staff to have a go at hula hooping and unwind with a relaxing meditation session and wellbeing walk and talk. Upon arrival, participants had the option to anonymously share their current emotion, which they later had the chance to reflect on following each wellness session.

The Faculty recognises the power of conversation in creating a supportive community and aimed to break down the stigma around mental health by promoting open conversations around emotional wellbeing.

Gemma Keaveney, one of the organisers of the programme of events, said: “Another successful Time to Talk Day with colleagues from across the Faculty taking part, learning new skills and making new friends and contacts. This is an important event in the wellbeing calendar and we hope to build on our successes year on year. A special thank you to those who facilitated sessions, we really couldn’t do this without your help and support.”
