Next Generation Research Supervision Project Survey
26 Jun 2024
Next Generation Research Supervision Project survey closes on Monday, 15 July.
The University of Manchester is delighted to have been selected to join the Next Generation Research Supervision Project (RSVP), along with consortium partners the University of Salford and Manchester Metropolitan University.
RSVP aims to transform the culture and practice of research supervision with the support of 20 universities and all UKRI research councils, making it one of the largest collaborative, cross-disciplinary research projects into doctoral education ever funded.
The project aims to positively transform how doctoral supervision is conducted, recognized, and rewarded.
Professor Melissa Westwood, AVP Research, said: "We are delighted that our consortium has been chosen as a partner for the RSVP project. We know from last year’s PGR Voice Survey that UoM PGR Supervisors are already doing a great job and being part of RSVP will allow us to further support this community by trialing the latest approaches to CPD, and to shape the future of PGR supervision.”
RSVP initiatives are expected to kick off in October 2025.
RSVP, with UKCGE, are currently seeking responses from PGR supervisors on their experiences. Your participation will help to form a national picture of the experiences, values and views of research supervisors and help to shape the UKCGE’s future support for research supervision.
If you are involved in the supervision of doctoral candidates in any capacity, they want to hear from you! To have your say, simply click here to complete the online survey. Participants will be entered into a prize draw to win £250.
