Faculty joins ASPECT training and learning platform for commercialising research

18 Apr 2024

Our ASPECT membership provides Humanities colleagues with free resources to help deliver sustainable impact on the community, economy and environment through research-driven social and commercial enterprise.

The Faculty of Humanities has become a Hub member of ASPECT, a platform for entrepreneurship, commercialisation and transformation in research across the SHAPE (social sciences, humanities and the arts for people and the economy/environment) disciplines.

ASPECT is dedicated to raising the profile of SHAPE research in tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges. Designed with and for researchers, it brings together national and international universities to support research innovation and drive sustainable impact.

The Faculty is a founding partner of the ASPECT programme and is now a member of its latest phase, focusing on providing tailored support and resources to equip academics and professional services staff with the skills and knowledge necessary to commercialise research effectively. Colleagues can benefit from free training courses on topics such as business engagement, building LinkedIn networks, and pathways to creating social enterprises.

It also aims to strengthen connections and foster collaboration among researchers, institutions and corporate partners to facilitate knowledge exchange and collective growth. The goal is to create an environment conducive to experimentation and innovation, where new ideas can be tested and refined to drive impactful outcomes for the economy and society.

Academic and professional services colleagues can access ASPECT resources by registering and logging into the member platform. For more information on the programme and its work, visit the ASPECT website.
