Printing in Nancy Rothwell Building and York Street Building

17 Sep 2024

Colleagues based in Nancy Rothwell Building and York Street Building should update thier print drives to avoid distruption printing and scanning documents

IT Services and our partners at Xerox are currently replacing more than 400 Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs) across campus to provide an improved solution for printing and scanning.

This work has now been completed in Nancy Rothwell Building and York Street Building and, as a result, the process for sending documents to MFDs for printing and scanning will change from Tuesday, 10 September.

All colleagues based in these buildings should follow the steps below and ensure they have new print drivers installed on their device in order to avoid any disruption printing or scanning documents.

Guidance for installing new print drivers

  1. Access the Software Center via the search bar at the bottom left of your device or, for colleagues using Windows 11, the Company Portal icon on your desktop
  2. In Applications, search for “Xerox” and select ‘Xerox Print Queues’
  3. Once install is complete, log off and back on again and Xerox Colour (single or double-sided) and Mono (single or double-sided) will be installed.

New drivers will appear under the following names:

·       PC_ColourDoubleSided on 10.99.101.101

·       PC_ColourSingleSided on 10.99.101.101

·       PC_MonoDoubleSided on 10.99.101.101

·       PC_MonoSingleSided on 10.99.101.101

Please note, for colleagues based in Oddfellows Hall, installation of new MFDs will take place in October 2024 so no action will be required until closer to the time.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. If you encounter any issues accessing new MFDs, support is available via the IT Services Portal or call 0161 306 5544.
