Develop your skills with LinkedIn Learning
We are excited to announce that all staff and students now have free access to LinkedIn Learning, as part of the Flexible Learning Programme’s two-year pilot, which will be evaluated until June 2026.
We will be launching LinkedIn Learning to students next week from Monday, 28 October 2024. You can find information in this article on how to support students with LinkedIn Learning.
This collaborative initiative, introduced in partnership with The Library, L&OD, The Directorate for the Student Experience including the Careers Service, and the Students’ Union, is part of our ongoing commitment to support the digital development of students and staff and encourage a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
What are the key benefits?
For Staff:
- Professional Development: Enhance your professional skills, whether it’s through leadership training, project management courses, or learning new technologies relevant to your roles.
- Personal Growth: Beyond professional skills, LinkedIn Learning offers courses on wellness, time management, and other personal development topics, supporting you in achieving a work-life balance that works for you.
- Curriculum Enhancement: Staff involved in curriculum design and delivery can use LinkedIn Learning to embed or signpost learning materials, providing students with resources and diverse perspectives on various subjects.
For Students:
- Skill Development: Students can access courses that complement academic studies, helping them develop skills that are highly valued by employers. Whether it’s mastering software tools or improving communication skills, students can tailor their learning to their career aspirations and interests.
- Career Preparation: With access to courses on CV writing, interview techniques, and job search strategies, students can better prepare for the job market. Additionally, LinkedIn Learning integrates with LinkedIn profiles, allowing students to showcase their newly acquired skills to potential employers.
- Flexible Learning: The platform’s on-demand nature means students can learn at their own pace, fitting their studies around their university schedule.
