The event included building and facilities tours featuring live podcast recordings with University students, an XR (virtual and augmented reality) drop-in taster session, Central Learning Environment (CLE) lunchtime drop-in, and an Information Zone with Flexible Learning Programme, M365 Champions, and the Educational Development team.

Booth Street East Launch

Associate Vice President Blended and Flexible Learning Dan George said, "The launch event for our new innovative teaching space at the University of Manchester was a great success. This building is a significant step forward in our commitment to fostering flexible learning environments that support our staff and cater to the diverse needs of our students. It was wonderful to see so many colleagues in attendance, and to be able to have discussions about the facilities, teaching and learning, and to share in the excitement of what the space can offer to our communities.”

As well as offering flexible learning, the building is also the University’s first Zero Carbon* building, with a 72% reduction in total carbon emissions. With the launch bringing us a step closer to our commitment to becoming Zero Carbon by 2038.
