University advice for EU colleagues ahead of second pilot of scheme to enable resident EU citizens and family members to apply for settled or pre-settled status
Some colleagues may be aware of the Home Office’s announcement late last week to run a second pilot of the EU Settlement Scheme, for which non-UK EU staff working in Higher Education institutions are now eligible.
The scheme will enable resident EU citizens and their family members to apply for settled or pre-settled status, and therefore continue to live and work in the UK beyond 31 December 2020 following UK’s planned exit from the EU.
Non-UK EU colleagues will be able to make applications from mid-November (date and arrangements to be confirmed).
As soon as we receive notification of when the application process is open, we will alert colleagues.
