Celebrate the President & Vice-Chancellor's end of term of office

As we approach the end of Nancy’s term as President and Vice-Chancellor on 31 July 2024, there will be two University events to mark the end of her term of office and we invite you to express your interest to attend.
Unveiling of a specially commissioned portrait
4.30pm – 7pm on Wednesday, 19 June at The Whitworth art gallery
The unveiling will follow an ‘In conversation’ discussing ‘Why should universities support art?’ between the directors of the Whitworth and the Tate, the artist, and Nancy.
Naming of the Nancy Rothwell building (Engineering Building A, part of MECD) and celebratory dinner
5pm – 9.30pm on Wednesday, 24 July 2024
The naming ceremony will be followed by a celebratory dinner in Nancy’s honour in the Whitworth Hall.
