Manchester Postdoc Appreciation Week is coming

02 Sep 2020

Celebrate with postdoc colleagues on Friday, 25 September

The idea of Postdoc Appreciation Week, which this year will run from 21 - 25 September, is to acknowledge, recognise, and celebrate all the hard work that postdocs and researchers dedicate to research, teaching, mentoring, outreach, and more.

Originating in North America, The University of Manchester hosted 'Postdocs Assemble!' in 2019, which won Elsevier's Best New PAW event, as well as a University Making a Difference Award.

We return this year with the theme to Celebrate Diversity of Researchers in Manchester, opening the free online event to include researchers from Salford University and MMU as well. We hope to cement this great annual practice of uplifting and uniting researchers from all walks of life, without boundaries.

Manchester-wide Postdoc Appreciation Week Event - 25 September, 1pm-2.30pm

  • Celebrating Diversity of Researchers - British Sign Language interpreters will be present for this event.

With an introduction by Chancellor Lemn Sissay MBE, we will highlight the stories and celebrate the achievements of our diverse research community.

Join us for an afternoon of inspirational and motivational talks to finish PAW with a bang and check out our University of Manchester Postdoc Appreciation Week webpage for information about the lineup of speakers, as well as local events and activities celebrating postdocs.
