Thomas Rodgers (School of Engineering)

Dr Rodgers shapes his teaching philosophy around allowing students to undertake active and personalized learning with structured support. This means that he has focused on developing rich-media resources to allow students to learn at their own pace, developing strategies for group problem solving, peer marking, and in-class discussions. These resources have also been used by a number of other universities. Within the department, he led on embedding key themes through the courses to reflect the future of chemical engineering, created a new blended learning strategy with students, developed a new SSLC pathway, and new academic advising resources for students.
