Lee Wickham (School of Health Sciences)
Dr. Lee Wickham was nominated for a Teaching Excellence Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to education in psychology. She has demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment to these principles through her role in leading the Final Year Project Unit within our BSc Psychology programme. This critical unit, which involves approximately 420 students completing a 16-page Final Year Project report, is crucial for graduating with a British Psychological Society-accredited degree. Lee’s exceptional leadership is evident in her management of this complex unit, the largest in our programme, which involves over 85 supervisors, many of whom are external to the BSc programme. She provides continuous support for staff with ethics applications, student engagement, and role understanding, ensuring they are well-prepared to guide their students effectively. Lee's dedication to inclusive education is demonstrated through her tailored support for students, particularly those with mental health challenges and neurodiversity, offering personalised guidance to help them navigate the complexities of the unit.
