Holly Morse (Lecturer in Bible, Gender and Culture, School of Arts, Languages and Cultures)
Holly recognises the importance of a supportive learning environment, and her approach to teaching and learning reflects that. Her work focuses on accommodating both different learning styles and working with students to build an inclusive pedagogical environment, which begins at an A level and supports them through till their first job.
Student feedback for Holly’s units praises her ability to construct a truly safe space to discuss the topics of each course, which she does by collaborating with students to establish a ‘code of conduct’ under which all teaching will take place. Combining this with an innovative approach to assessment and a plethora of learning tasks designed to account for a range of learning styles, she successfully builds a welcoming learning environment for a diverse student body. Alongside this, she is engaged in the ‘Going Beyond Belief’ project working in partnership with the BBC. Through this, Holly aims to bring theological resources to A-level students on a national level, engaging and preparing them for their future experiences in higher Education.
