FSE Teaching Academy Support Team

This team’s nomination showed how the all the nominated colleagues proactively contributed to the FSE Teaching Academy since the start of remote teaching in March 2020. Some examples of their contributions include: developing an online introductory course for blended learning, collaborating with student representatives to identify practice that enhances their experience and sharing this with colleagues, sharing ideas through the weekly FSE Teaching Academy email to all staff which has enhanced learning and the student experience, engaging with student partners to review and enhance their teaching and learning materials and delivering presentations at an FSE Teaching Academy conference.

This team’s work has reached over 10,000 students, 761 academic staff and 1081 units of study. There have been over 50 instalments of the weekly email and the resources and training produced are hosted on a website that has been accessed by over 1000 individual users with 33,000 page views. The email and website were greatly valued by academic staff with their feedback mentioning how useful they were and how supported they felt. This team impacted learning and the student experience with 80% of semester 1 courses being rated as excellent or good in unit surveys and they received positive feedback in the UNIAC audit of the University’s response to the pandemic.
