Emma Jenkinson (School of Biological Sciences)

Emma Jenkinson is the Programme Director for MSc Clinical Sciences, (Genomic Sciences) a 3-year, part-time Scientist Training Programme (STP) which provides specialist training and development for Clinical Scientists within the NHS through 4 distinct training pathways. Emma is dedicated to ensuring the success of the programme, and its students. Her role involves co-ordination of an extensive academic and NHS clinical teaching team and ensuring that the curriculum of each pathway, includes new ideas and developing concepts recommended by the National School. The success of the programme is exemplified by the successful renewal of the Health Education England STP contract and that Manchester is the only HEI to deliver this STP programme. Emma has also gone above and beyond in her role as programme director by filling in for a unit co-ordinator who withdrew at very short notice. Without her taking the initiative, this unit would not have run which would have caused great inconvenience to the 25 NHS based students enrolled on this pathway.
