UG Prospectus – 2018

This prospectus was printed on [DATE] for the purposes of the 2018 intake. It has therefore been printed in advance of course starting dates. For this reason, course information (including, for example, in relation to course content, module availability, etc.) may be amended prior to you applying for a place on a course of study. There are a number of reasons why changes to course information and/or published term dates may need to be made prior to you applying for a place on a course, these may include, but are not limited to, the following: the need to make reasonable changes to the content and teaching offered in relation to any course for operational and/or academic reasons; the withdrawal of courses due to cohort numbers not being sufficient; a course not receiving the relevant accreditation required; and/or interruption or loss of key services due to circumstances beyond our control, including fire, flood or other operational issues. 

Prospective students are therefore reminded that they are responsible for ensuring, prior to applying to study on a course of study at the University of Manchester, that they review up-to-date course information, which is available by visiting http://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/ and searching for the relevant course. 

Further information describing the teaching, examination, assessment and other educational services, offered by the University of Manchester is available from http://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/ .In this prospectus you will find an overview of the University’s pastoral and student support services, further information is available from each service’s web site.  Prospective applicants should therefore familiarise themselves with this information prior to applying to study on a course of study at the University of Manchester.


Tuition Fees Statement – UG Prospectus 2018

The tuition fee for entry in September 2018 is not yet available, but will be calculated by reference to inflationary increases to the tuition fee applicable to entry in September 2017 (which is £9250 subject to government regulations on fee increases). The inflationary increase will be calculated by reference to the RPIX (RPIX is a measure of inflation in the UK).

Future inflationary increases, to reflect increased costs of delivering the course, will be applied to each subsequent year of your course, subject to government regulations on fee increases, and we will provide you with further information about such increases when it becomes available. The inflationary increase will be calculated by reference to the RPIX (RPIX is a measure of inflation in the UK).


Statement for EU students

It is our intention to charge EU students joining undergraduate courses in September 2018 the same fee as home students for the duration of their course, provided we are permitted to do so by UK law. We will update the fees section on our website [insert link], as and when further information becomes available. 


Pocket Guide 2018 entry

This pocket guide was printed on [DATE] for the purposes of the 2018 intake. It has therefore been printed in advance of course starting dates. For this reason, information contained within the pocket guide, for example, about campus life, may be amended prior to you applying for a place on a course of study. Course entry requirements are listed for the purposes of the 2018 intake only. 

Prospective students are therefore reminded that they are responsible for ensuring, prior to applying to study on a course of study at the University of Manchester, that they review up-to-date course information including checking entry requirements, which is available by visiting http://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/ and searching for the relevant course. PG Prospectus – 2018 for PGT 

This prospectus was printed in xxx for the purposes of the 2018 intake. It has therefore been printed in advance of course starting dates.  

As such, for a number of reasons, master’s course information, including, for example, details of course content, module availability and/or published term dates, may be amended either prior to or after you apply for a place on a course. 

These reasons may include, but are not limited to: 

  • the need to make, for operational and/or academic reasons, reasonable changes to the content and teaching offered in relation to any course;
  • the withdrawal of courses due to cohort numbers being insufficient;
  • a course not receiving the relevant accreditation required; and/or
  • interruption or loss of key services due to circumstances beyond our control, including fire, flood or other operational issues. 

Prospective master’s students are reminded that they are responsible for ensuring, prior to applying, or accepting an offer, to study at The University of Manchester, that they review up-to-date course information, by searching for the relevant master’s course at: http://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/masters/courses/.  

All information relating to tuition fees and funding is correct at the time of publication. However, this may change for a number of reasons, including if there is a change to government policy.

 

PG Prospectus – 2018 for PGR 

This prospectus was printed in xxx for the purposes of the 2018 intake. It has therefore been printed in advance of programme starting dates.  

As such, for a number of reasons, research programme information, including, for example, published term dates, may be amended either prior to or after you apply for a place on a programme. 

These reasons may include, but are not limited to: 

  • the need to make, for operational and/or academic reasons, reasonable changes to the programme of study;
  • the need to change your main supervisor if circumstances change and this supervisor is no longer available, for example if a supervisor retires, transfers to another institution or is absent for an extended period.  In exceptional circumstances, it may not be possible to appoint an alternative supervisor and we may withdraw the offer; and/or
  • interruption or loss of key services due to circumstances beyond our control, including fire, flood or other operational issues. 

Prospective research students are reminded that they are responsible for ensuring, prior to applying for, or accepting, a place to study at The University of Manchester, that they review up-to-date programme information, by searching for the relevant postgraduate research programme at:
