SEAtS is the new way to log student attendance.

Having one consistent, accurate attendance system will help us actively support student engagement. This will allow us to offer help and advice to individuals when they need it.

Student engagement is not only important for academic success – it's also a vital indicator of their wellbeing. SEAtS will help identify students who may be struggling academically or personally, so we’re able to quickly and effectively offer any support they may need. 

The new system will be used initially by undergraduate and postgraduate taught students based on campus. Once the rollout is complete, it will replace our current patchwork of different local attendance systems, such as registers in Schools and the visa check-in process.  

How SEAtS works for teaching staff in 3 simple steps: 

  1. Log in to the SEAtS website uom.seats.cloud
  2. Find your teaching activity within the system 
  3. Show a QR and pin code (ideally on screen) at the start of the teaching session for students to scan. For smaller classes, a digital register can be taken
