July 2022 TLD Bulletin
1. Staffing updates
Friday 1st July was Rita Feeley’s last day in the Division of Student and Academic Services (SAS), and she has now moved a new role in the School of Engineering. Rita was a familiar face to most of us in the Directorate for Student Experience (DSE), having led on graduations, examinations and official documents for around 8 years. She will be sorely missed and we wish her the best of luck in her new role. Recruitment for a new Scheduling Manager is now underway.
2. Policy and Degree Apprenticeships
- Updates to Appeals and Complaints Regulations and forms to reflect the new name of the Division
Some minor amendments have been made to Regulation XVIII: Student Complaints Procedure and Regulation XIX: Academic Appeals Procedure (and the associated student complaints form and academic appeals form) to reflect that the former central Teaching, Learning and Student Development (TLSD) area is now ‘Teaching and Learning Delivery’(TLD), part of the Division of Student and Academic Services (SAS). The student appeal and complaint forms have also been updated with these details. The rest of the content of the documents remains the same at present.
Please ensure that you use the updated versions in future. The documents still have the same url addresses as before so you are advised to use these links, rather than saving copies locally, to help ensure you are always referring to the most up to date version. The documents can be accessed from the following webpage:
All other TLD owned formal regulation, policy and guidance documents will be updated to reflect the current Division and role titles in due course.

Institutional analysis available through the NSS Dashboard reporting area in Power BI. (This is a suite of dynamic reports that can be configured using the parameters available to interrogate data at university-level as well as by subject area (CAH codes), and in relation to overall satisfaction scores and question theme. Results can also be analysed using student profiles such as by ethnicity and/or POLAR data). Top level headline report (including such things as the University’s position in the Russell Group, overall position in the sector and the margin of swing in satisfaction since 2021) will be circulated directly to senior colleagues and will be updated on the TLD NSS results webpages for the wider university to access. Please note formal communications will follow later in the day and as we would like to take a coordinated approach to our University response please await this messaging before publishing local interpretations. *Please note that the updating of 2022 data is dependent upon a third party feed that is managed by Texuna, the company commissioned on behalf of OfS to make NSS results available. |

Please refer to this additional note sent by April McMahon on 30 June about the University approach for publishing any specific messages relating to local interpretation of the 2022 NSS results. It is important that as a University we issue our response to NSS results in a coordinated way.
